Compliance Packages.

If an end user has ordered a CCTV system with recording capability, he/she must notify the Data Protection Commission under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998. In this case the only exception is if the system is installed in a private domestic residence. Failure to do so could result in a fine of up to £5,000 in the County Court.

In order to comply with the requirements of The Act it is essential that access to and disclosure of recorded images are restricted and carefully controlled, to ensure that the rights of individuals are preserved.

It is also vital that the chain of evidence remains intact should the recording be required for evidential purposes. In order to achieve these objectives Video Management Services have developed a range of entry-level packages specifically for small systems typically operated by retail staff & management.

Certified Mechanical Destruction

In certain high security applications and in all others where electromagnetic erasure is not a part of the tape management process, it is vital that, at the end of the useful life of magnetic media, the cassettes are disposed of in an effective manner..

Tringmain Security have developed a simple process whereby new cassettes are supplied in a heavy duty carton with a GREEN ‘D’ sticker, a Destruction Request / Certificate and return Tringmain address label is included in the package.

Process

1. Customer orders VHS / SVHS product, either as standard tape or as part of an ELCP package, using the Tringmain Security Part No. with a D suffix and adds 25% to basic part cost.

2. Upon delivery to site the customer removes new product from the packaging and re-uses the packaging for use-expired tapes.

3. The Destruction Request / Certificate is completed and placed back in the carton to which the Tringmain return address label is fitted.

4. The customer retains the package for the normal archive period e.g. 31 days.

5. At the end of the archive period the package is sealed using the heavy duty tape and tamper evident seal and returned to Tringmain.

6. Upon receipt Tringmain will mechanically destroy the cassettes and return the completed destruction certificate to the customer or his agent. Return transport to Tringmain is included in the cost.
